体坛英语资讯:Czech soccer head coach Rada dismissed

The executive committee of the Czech Football Association (CMFS) dismissed Petr Rada as national team coach, the Czech news agency CTK said on Wednesday. "The reason is the dissatisfactory results and also (the team's) performance in the last two qualifier matches," CMFS chairman Pavel Mokry told a press conference, referring to the CMFS's decision to part with Rada.

All 12 members of the executive committee voted for Rada's departure, CTK said.

Rada, 50, became national coach last August. The team played eight matches under him, winning two, scoring four draws and suffering two defeats.

Rada's last appearance was the failed World Cup qualifier against Slovakia last week. Czechs lost 2-1.

No successor to Rada has been named as yet.

It is speculated that Frantisek Straka, now without a post, or Karel Jarolim, current coach of first-league Slavia Praha, might replace Rada.

Besides bad results, he has been harmed by the party that several players staged right after the loss against Slovakia.

The CMFS executive committee expelled six players from the national team who participated in the party. They are Tomas Ujfalusi, Milan Baros, Radoslav Kovac, Martin Fenin, Marek Matejovsky and Vaclav Sverkos.
